Do you feel ashamed for not being like others? Your body doesn’t.

Have you ever felt that sense of shame that arrives for no clear reason? Like a knot in the pit of your stomach, a tightening in your throat,a sudden lowering of your gaze even though no one is actually judging you?
We often feel ashamed without even realizing it, because we don’t earn enough, because we haven’t yet reached that idea of success that was planted in our minds, because we don’t feel like we’ve “made it”( Made it where, exactly? ) Or simply, because we’re not like others.
This shame has deep roots. It’s as if, somewhere inside, we signed an invisible contract:
"I must look or be a certain way, or else I’m breaking some unspoken social rule."
And so, even when you’re not doing anything wrong, you feel guilty...you worry and tense up.
But in all of this—what does your body say?
And yet, if you return to sensing your body…you’ll realize it doesn’t feel shame at all.
Your body doesn’t have to prove anything.
It doesn’t follow popular opinion, It doesn’t need to please anyone and it doesn’t need to feel “enough”.
Your body simply tells the truth of who you are today— through tension, sensation, tremors, sighs, space, and silence.
When you bring your attention back there, when you stay in deep listening, shame begins to change shape.
It doesn’t disappear right away, but it slowly begins to lose power.
It becomes just a small voice—distant, old, often inherited, maybe a family voice, a cultural voice as if you had signed a contract without realizing it...and are now starting to cancel it...
but the body didn’t sign anything.
Your body just wants you to come home to it.
And so, next time shame rises again, don’t try to erase it, don’t justify it and don’t fight it:
Feel it...through the breath, your skin and your posture. Just feel it.
Because when you make space for it, when you stop judging even your own shame, then it softens and you can finally begin to feel good with yourself in your own skin without needing to justify it anymore.
